Title: The Blue Flower - Author: Henry Van Dyke - Publisher: Charle Scribner's Sons - Copyright: November 1906 (6th printing of first edition) - 299 pages (no Index) - Illustrated with 8 plates by various artists - Cover Art by Margaret Armstrong with BLVE as she designed it for the series of uniform Henry Van Dyke books! Still clean and bright - HC/no DJ (not clipped) - VG - Contents: Nine Short stories written over a ten year period and brought together in this volume by the author. Story titles are: The Blue Flower, The Source, The Mill, Spy Rock, Wood-Magic, The other Wise Man, A Handful of Clay, The Lost Word, and The First Christmas Tree. Artists of the plates/illustrations include, Howard Pyle (3), C.K.Linson (1), Arthur Heming (1), F.V. Dumond (1), and J. R. Weguelin (2). Classic stories by a classic writer. - Condition: Pasted bookplate removed and left residue. Previous owners signature in ink (Josephine Tasher) was revealed to be under where it once was. Corners bumped - Boards peeking on two corners - 2 pages w/ Dogears - Slight lean to spine - Spine not cracked - Might have had Pencil Erasures of bookstore pencil code on flyleaf hard to tell even with magnifier - No other writing or highlights I could see - No Loose Pages - Very Clean - As stated Previously owners name on inside cover in Ink - Keywords: Fiction, Stories, Romance, Short Stories, Literature, Howard Pyle Illustrator, Margaret Armstrong
